Hello. Does anyone know if there is a place where people are keeping track of dna testing done by Runyons and Runnion descendants?
There does seem to be a Runyan y-dna project at family tree dna, but I haven't made sense of the posted results there yet.
My ancestress is Margaret Runnion/Runyan who was born 24 Nov 1799 in Sevier County, Tennessee. She married James C. Holland of Cocke County, Tennessee when she was fifteen years old. One of my elder relatives donated dna for autosomal genetic testing. One of this relative's genetic matches is another descendant of Margaret Runnion and James C. Holland. Call this match Person A. Another of this relative's genetic matches is a descendant of Adam Runyon Sr. born 1755 Frederick County, Maryland through his son Adam Runyon born 1800 in Stokes County, North Carolina. Call this second match Person B. Person A, my elder relative, and Person B all share dna in common. I do -not- say at this time the reason for the sharing in common is a genetic link through the Runyans. Just, that supposition is a place to start research.
