Hello,
I descend from Julia Ann Runnion/Runyan born 29, November 1836 in OH. Julia married AJ Hiner is Des Moines, Iowa in 1850. Julia's father was John Runnion born 1789 in VA per the 1850 census. (This is the John Runnion listed with a wife named Elizabeth.)
I believe John Runnion is the son of William Runyan and Catherine Custer. I believe that Catherine Williams was his first wife and Elizabeth (Smart?) was his second.
1) I genetically match a lot of Williams descendants that I have not made the connection to.
2) I match a confirmed CUSTER descendant.
3) Julia Ann (Runyan) Hiner named her first child Catherine.
Now it gets confusing.
1) I also have a lot of matches to people who descend from Isaac Runyan and Rulenor Fitzpatrick.
2) I also match a descendant of Nancy Runion who married John Truman in Kanawha, (formerly VA) WVA.
I think Isaac Runyan who married Rulenor is the son of John Runnion based on his date of birth. I believe he is named after Isaac
Runyan - his Uncle who married Nancy Ann Little.
Given I am not very familiar with the whereabouts of William Runyan and Catherine Custer I am hoping people can help me. Ditto for the line of Catherine (Williams) Runyan/Runnion... Does anyone know when she died?
I think John Truman's wife Nancy could be a niece of John Runnion/Runyan as she married in 1840 in Kanawha, WVA. There are Runnion/Runions/Runyan's in Kanawha County, WVA, but I cannot figure out any connection. Jacob Runnions born 1821 married to a Letty. There is an Elijah Runions and a John Runnions listed on the 1830 census both 30-40 years old...
Any help figuring this all out would be much appreciated!
