I have noticed on the family trees on the web that Polly Runyon married Clay Farley in 1844 in Logan Co., WVA. Does anyone have a marriage record for this event? Polly and Clay are my gggrandparents. I am trying to learn who the parents of Clay Farley were. Can anyone help me with this? G. Davis

Page 88, of "Runyon Genealogy" by Robert & Amos Runyon, 1955 says that Polly Runyon b. 8/4/1826 married Clay Farley in Logan County in 1844. He was born March 6, 1819 in Logan County and died 7/6/1891, in Martin County. It further says that Clay served in the Civil War as a private in Company I, 39th Kentucky Volunteer Infrantry. No mention of his parents was made.

No offence, but I too would like to see a marriage record. I have all the other info through my research but that. Does anyone have the marriage record or were the records destroyed? Some say that Clay's name is William Clay Farley, but I have no records to back that up. If anyone has a copy of the marriage record please email me at angel.francis65@gmail. There was a William Farley who married a Mary Polly Runyon daughter of Henry Runyon in 1846 (Pike County, KY) but I don't believe that is my Clay or my Mary Polly. I appreciate the book info but it doesn't prove Clay's parents who I suspect are Thompson and Mary Polly Phillips and that info is very important in my research. Thanks.
