I have managed to trace my ancestry back to Thomas Runyan of Hunterdon County, NJ. According to information posted everywhere online, Thomas was the son of Vincent Rongnion. Could someone please let me know how this relationship was proved?
Also, with regard to Vincent Rongnion's wife, how is it known that the Anne Boutcher he married in 1668 is the same person as the Martha who was his widow according to the "Calendar of New Jersey Wills"? It would seem logical to infer that Anne died and that Martha was his second wife, the mortality rate being what it was in those days.
Does anyone have a copy of the estate settlement of Thomas Runyan? I just received a copy from the NJ Archives today and I'm having trouble reading the second to the last name in the disbursements page of the account. It is the name of one of Thomas Runyan's children. It looks something like "Resuanh"
Thanks!
Carol
