Helen Louise Wenger Runyon, 86, of Saint Thomas, was received into eternal rest on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. Born May 18, 1927, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Brandt Wenger and Thelma Rotz Wenger. She was a life-long member of Church of the Brethren, 4th Street, Chambersburg. Helen was a retired seamstress from J. Schoeneman in Chambersburg. She is survived by her two children, Samuel D. Runyon and spouse Barbara, Saint Thomas, and Faye L. Runyon Woods and spouse Robert of East Earl, Pa.; a brother, Lee Wenger and spouse Teri of Waldorf, Md.; and a sister, Hazel Wenger Rouzer and spouse John of King, N.C.; stepmother, Lillian Wenger; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Runyon, and a granddaughter, Kristin M. Runyon. A memorial service will be conducted at Church of the Brethren, 4th Street, Chambersburg, on Friday September 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Daniel House. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kristin Runyon Memorial Scholarship Fund, Development Office, Summit Health, 585 Fifth Avenue, Siute1, Chambersburg, PA 17201. The scholarship fund was created to honor Kristin's memory and to support nursing education for area residents.
