Good evening!! I have located Laura Brook Runyon's parents - James and Matilda - I have located James Runyon's parents - Andrew J. Runyon and Elizabeth Puckett (according to James' death certificate) Am now trying to locate Andrew's parents. I know (based on the 1880 Federal Census) that Andrew and Elizabeth lived in Grundy Township, Buchanan County, Virginia in 1880 with their children - Christaney, age 23; James M., age 19; Alexander, age 16; Jacob, age 11; John age 11 (must be twins); Lucinda, age 9; and Matilda, age 5. Also living in the residence is Christaney, age 77 who is identified as mother and is either widowed or divorced. My research has taught me that there was a fire in the Commerce Bldg. and the records of the 1890 Census were burned. The 1900 Census shows Elizabeth, age 67, widowed or divorced, living in the residence of Alex, age 37 who is identified as the head of the house and being widowed; James S., age 11, son; Andrew J., age 9, son; and Vicy J., age 48, identified as sister and is widowed or divorced.
Anything familiar to anyone?? Any hints/help would be greatly appreciated.

I contacted a person through Ancestry.com who had an Andrew J. Runyon in their tree but it was private. They did respond and said their Andrew Runyon was born 6 May 1826 in Harmony, New Jersey, USA and that he died 5 May 1906 in Utica, Michigan. He married a lady named Esther. His parents were Ralph (1792-1872) and Sarch Ann Gardner (1801-1839). That was all the information he had. I don't think this is my Andrew because all my research (as limited as it is) says my Andrew was born in VA as were his parents. But I can't find anything on him other than the Census that showed a Christaney Coleman, age 77, listed as "mother". Will keep elooking though. Something has to give sometime!! Thanks.
